Past, present and future

Adaptive technologies at the core of astronomical and communication innovation

Since 1995 Microgate has been shaping the future of astronomical technologies through its pioneering work in Adaptive Optics. With a high-tech core and a passion for challenges, the company designs and delivers advanced control systems and deformable mirrors used in some of the world’s largest ground-based telescopes. Microgate’s technology is embedded in major international observatories—including the LBT (Large Binocular Telescope) in Arizona, ESO VLT (Very Large Telescope), and the upcoming ESO ELT (Extremely Large telescope), based in the Atacama desert in Chile—enabling scientists to explore the universe with unmatched clarity. In parallel, Microgate contributes to the space sector through the development of high-precision systems for satellite laser ranging and free-space optical communication. The company’s commitment to innovation and excellence continues to drive progress across both scientific and industrial domains.
