Introduction

Balance is the ability to maintain the centre of mass within the base of support, allowing the body to perceive movement, orientation, direction and speed and to adapt posture automatically or voluntarily. Efficient postural stability is fundamental not only in daily life, but also in most sports disciplines, from archery to figure skating, from mountaineering to gymnastics, where body control in space is decisive. Balance disturbances can generate compensations, overloads and increase injury risk. For this reason, measuring and training stability is a key element in prevention and performance optimisation. Bi- and single-leg tests with GykoPro allow assessing displacement length and speed, precision, ellipse area and oscillation frequency, providing objective and repeatable data, even in dynamic conditions thanks to the integration with OptoJump Next.

Perceptual-Cognitive Speed

Single-leg exercises with GykoPro to assess stability and centre of mass oscillations. The sway test identifies compensations, analyses postural precision and monitors the ability to maintain static balance, providing objective data for targeted interventions on shoulder, hip and ankle.

Configuration 2

Change of Direction

Analysis of posture and centre of mass control during marching on the spot or light walking. The integration between GykoPro and OptoJump Next detects oscillations, asymmetries and step variability, allowing assessment of dynamic stability and the ability to maintain control in basic functional movements.

Configuration 3

Power and Strength

Protocol of 5 continuous single-leg jumps performed at maximum speed with OptoJump Next. The system measures flight times, contact times and lateral displacement of the centre of mass, highlighting the ability to maintain verticality and symmetry under explosive load. Particularly indicated for multidirectional sports.
