Stability & Balance control

Stability and control to prevent relapses

REHAB

Introduction

Balance control is one of the key elements in the rehabilitative pathway: joint stability and relapse prevention depend on it.

After an injury, the integration between the visual, vestibular and proprioceptive system is often compromised, generating compensations and overloads that increase the risk of new injury events.

Progressively monitoring and training stability, from static conditions to dynamic and single-leg tasks, allows objectifying recovery and defining safe criteria for progression.

GykoPro analyses postural oscillations, compensation strategies and control. Integrated with Optogait, it extends assessment to dynamic contexts such as walking, running and jumps with stabilisation.

Examples of configurations:
flexible and customizable

Recovering postural control and joint stability is fundamental to preventing relapses and ensuring a safe return to activity. It is essential to progressively assess and train balance, from static single-leg conditions to jumps with stabilisation.

Configuration 1

Assessing static control: sway and proprioception

GykoPro measures oscillation length and speed, ellipse area and displacement frequency of the centre of mass under static single- and double-leg conditions. It allows identifying compensations, monitoring proprioceptive recovery and providing objective criteria to guide rehabilitation pathway progression.

Configuration 2

Analysing dynamic stability

The integration between GykoPro and Optogait allows assessing oscillations, asymmetries and variability during walking or light running. The combined analysis highlights dynamic instabilities and trunk compensations not detectable in static tests, offering a more complete picture of functional recovery.

Configuration 3

Validating control under high-demand conditions

Single-leg jump protocols with stabilisation allow assessing postural control under high neuromuscular demand conditions.
Optogait measures flight and contact times, while GykoPro analyses oscillations in the landing phase. A fundamental step in the advanced Return to Play phase.

Products suited for this field of application

GykoPro measures balance and stability under static conditions, analysing oscillations and compensation strategies. Integrated with Optogait, it extends assessment to marching, walking, running and jumps with stabilisation, supporting therapeutic progression and relapse prevention.
