Introduction

The vertical jump has always been one of the main indicators of athletic performance, but today its analysis goes beyond mere height reached.
Where the Vertical Jump once represented the benchmark for assessing strength and explosiveness, the modern approach integrates more functional and specific tests: single-leg broad jumps with stabilisation, reactive, multidirectional and hurdle jumps.
These protocols allow analysing not only power, but also motor control, symmetries, and the ability to absorb and reuse force.
Thanks to tools such as OptoJump Next e GykoPro it is possible to obtain a complete, objective assessment that is directly applicable to the real demands of modern sport.

Configuration 1

Drift Protocol

The Drift Protocol is a test designed to detect asymmetries and adaptability in vertical explosive force production. It involves 5 continuous single-leg jumps performed at maximum speed and power, allowing assessment of explosive
capacity, movement control and balance under high neuromuscular demands. OptoJump records flight and contact times, as well as the spatial behaviour of the athlete, allowing calculation of indicators such as “power density”. The integration with Gyko Pro also objectifies the eccentric and concentric phases of the movement, offering a complete picture of neuromuscular performance.

Configuration 2

Single-Leg Broad Jump with Stabilisation

A widely used test in preventive and rehabilitative settings to support the return to sports activity. It allows assessment of horizontally expressed force together with stabilisation capacity and postural control. The synchronised integration of GykoPro and OptoJump Next allows analysing distance, LSI (Limb Symmetry Index)
and a stabilisation index specific to each limb.

Configuration 3

Plyometric assessments and multidirectional jumps:

Series of reactive, multidirectional and hurdle jumps to train reactivity, force absorption and reuse capacity (RSI, RFD). Thanks to the portability of the systems, protocols adapt to any jump configuration. OptoJump Next measures temporal and spatial parameters even in complex contexts, while GykoPro objectively assesses stability, accelerations and segmental control.
